We had a much better day today. We had what we called a “Millie day” which was an offering yesterday when she was having a tough time. The premise is that it’s her day and she gets to choose what we do (within reason). She woke me up this morning by whispering “it’s my day today” in my ear at 7:30AM.
After breakfast the first request was to go to the beach and build sandcastles. I’m still not feeling 100% (almost there but still feeling weak and with some nausea) so Nick took one for the team and sat in the direct sun with her for 2 hours to build and epic drip-castle.

We ran out of sunscreen and had to buy more at the hotel. The strongest they had was 25 spf and his back is nice and pink now.
For lunch she wanted pizza by the pool, so pizza by the pool is what we had.

We swam in the pool. Her swimming is getting so good. She jumped in and swam halfway across the pool to meet me. She loves it.
We got to FaceTime with her best friend from school. They giggled and attempted to have a conversation. Millie was sad when she had to hang up (both that the call was over and because she missed her) but overall I think it was helpful for her to see her.
We spent an hour or so together in the kids club. At this point we had all had too much sun and realized that the hotel sunscreen wasn’t cutting it even though we reapplied every hour. We headed up to the room for some quiet time and watched a movie (Luca) together.
We showered and headed down for an early dinner at the only non-buffet restaurant in the resort.
We have an early flight tomorrow. I’m hopeful the change of scenery will help things. At the very least we’ll be going somewhere with playgrounds!
