Hello darkness my old friend… we are back in Dubai. Unfortunately just about every flight from Cape Town to our upcoming stops passes through Dubai. Instead of having a hellish travel day we decided to break up the journey and spend one day here before moving on. On the Dubai agenda: visit the Apple Store to try to get Nick’s watch replaced.

Our travel day was fairly routine. Out of the Airbnb by 10, and at the airport with plenty of time to spare. We ran into a colleague of mine from Stripe which was a funny surprise. We have had so many chance run-ins on this trip. It is a good reminder that while expansive, the world can also feel very small. Either that, or we’re living in a simulation.

We flew Emirates for the first time which I really liked. Comfy seats, good (enough) food. I appreciated that they had children’s meals. They took this Polaroid of us for a souvenir.

Millie watched 8-hours straight of tv. Every time I looked over at her she gave me a huge smile and thumbs up. I hate the iPad but she was in heaven and very calm, which I guess is the most important thing.

We landed at midnight. She whined and cried about various things but did not completely lose it.

Made our way to our hotel where it is now 2AM and everyone is snoring. My dedication to the daily post remains undefeated.
