We had a truly boring day. It barely warrants a blog post here. But for the sake of continuity…
Alarms went off at 5AM and we packed up the car. We hoped Millie would go back to sleep in the car but after an hour and a sunrise, no dice. We handed over the iPad and listened to the Silk Road audiobook for the 4.5 hour drive back to Bishkek. It felt special to have recently visited so many of the places they mentioned: Tunisia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, etc.

We got back to the office building and returned the car. Since it was Sunday we had to wait for the guy to come and then wait for him to wash and detail the car, before we could get our deposit back. This took 3 hours total. We sat in the empty cafe. We had breakfast. Millie drew and played with her little people.

When it was finally done we took a taxi to our hotel. Our driver was very aggressive and angry, but playing the most upbeat music—like Britney Spears and Pharrell’s “Happy”—which made me laugh.
Millie earnestly nursed her baby doll for the whole ride which also made me laugh. I’ve never met anyone who wants a baby more than my baby wants a baby.

We checked in at 2 and tiredness hit. We started Sunday’s movie night early and watched Aladdin. I got our budget spreadsheet up to date. Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan have brought us back down under our forecasted budget, yahoo!
We all took showers. Millie drew some more. We debated taking a taxi out to dinner but all decided to stay at the hotel. We had a mediocre dinner in their weird cafe. It is decorated as if it’s vegan but half the menu items are horse meat.

Then we came back to the room, put on robes, and watched even more of a movie (live action Lilo & Stitch). Lights out by 8pm.
We did nothing “fun” or interesting today but everyone was in a great mood all day, despite the waiting and the tiredness. Lots of laughter and silliness.
