Transit day! Our flight was at 1:30 so we had a leisurely morning of packing up. Millie noticed we were busy and miraculously played with herself for a good 90 minutes. It is hard to get her to play independently but once she’s in her own little imagination world, she is LOCKED IN.
The drive to the airport was a hellish 1 hour. Our driver accelerated the car by “pumping” the gas pedal. This is not great in a normal car. It’s especially egregious in an electric car, where the acceleration and deceleration are much more intense. He did this for the full hour even though we were on a smooth road without traffic. Millie started feeling queasy about 15 minutes in. Somehow Nick, family genius, thought to stash an air sickness bag in her backpack months ago. We drove for about 10 minutes holding it up for her like a feed bag until she spewed. We caught it all and eventually got to the airport. She was a great sport despite how bad the ride was.
There wasn’t a trash can in sight so Nick carried a bag of puke for a while. The glamorous side of travel.

She perked up when we got through security and got to choose some gum as a reward for earning stars by being so good. She was in heaven on the flight. Watching her iPad, and chewing her gum.

We landed and then had to wait a very long time in a packed passport control line. Millie did great. I think we all have some PTSD from prior outbursts while in a confined space like this.

Then we had our second annoying ride share experience of the day. I called an Uber and we waited for 20 minutes while he circled, said he was waiting for us, asked us to walk to another checkpoint, circled again, asked us to walk back, and so on… we did eventually cancel and get a new car. The drive into the city was over an hour.
We arrived at our Airbnb, dropped our stuff, and immediately headed out for dinner. It is cold here and feels like Autumn. One thing that’s been weird about this trip is the whiplash of changing seasons.

We found a shockingly well done English pub and had cottage pie and chili. It did the trick on a cold night. Tomorrow we will begin the gastronomical journey into Korean food.
