We had to check out of our little Airbnb at 11AM and our train wasn’t until almost 3, so it felt like we spent much of the day at the Seoul train station. We had coffees and pastries. Millie and I spent a full hour walking around the attached mall. She drew and drew.

On the train we realized we had only bought two seats. The system didn’t assign one to Millie since she is under 4, so we spent the 2 hour ride squished like this. She loved it. We did not.

I slept terribly last night and was disappointed not to get my very necessary train nap. We arrived as the sun was setting, and it feels good to get outside of a huge city.

Everything here is set up for the huge APEC meeting that is taking place here with world leaders next week. I’m glad we will be gone by then.
We were starving and left for dinner immediately after checking into the hotel. We walked to a highly rated barbecue place. At the last place we had grilled pork but today we had marinated beef. I preferred this, and so did Millie. The woman who was our waitress saw how confused we were by the process and she did everything for us. She even started feeding Millie at one point, like a concerned grandmother. As a result, Millie ate more than usual for dinner. Win-win.

The whole place was a no-shoes establishment which made it feel very cozy and homey. I love the Korean dedication to hygiene. In every bathroom there are always ladies brushing their teeth at the sink.

We walked back and got ready for bed. We’re in a hotel room all together which is Millie’s favorite. Sharing a room means we’re all on her schedule. So I’m writing this post in bed at 8:30 with my Korean skincare mask on, mouthguard in, looking like a serial killer.

Sorry everyone, I’m taken!!!
