Even though the train to Busan was only 30 minutes, it felt like a travel day because we had to pack up, take a taxi to the station, wait at the station, then take a taxi to our Airbnb in Busan.
This is the only photo I have from this morning. Nick pulled something in his neck and sat up straight like this all morning. I went to get some snacks and saw him from across the station, doing his crossword puzzle like a mannequin. I was not sympathetic and couldn’t stop laughing.

Millie, as usual, passed the time drawing. The journey was uneventful until we got to the taxi line and Nick suddenly looked at me with a face of horror and said “my backpack, where’s my backpack?” He had somehow forgotten to take it off the train. We don’t know how it happened. We weren’t particularly rushed and we are so used to our stuff that we’re still shocked that he didn’t notice it right away. Just a gigantic brain fart I guess.
He sprinted back to the platform while Millie and I followed behind with everything else. He ran up and down to all the trains to see if he could get it back. It wasn’t on the train so he went to the information desk, where it was waiting for him. Phew! It was a very stressful 30 minutes. We both agreed that if this was to happen anywhere, South Korea is the place. People leave wallets and phones out unattended everywhere here, it is so safe. Would be a great place for a thief actually, easy money.
The drive to our Airbnb reminded me of Cape Town. Hilly, sunny weather, big buildings and old buildings, oceans and bridges, and a big port.

We checked in and lazed around a bit. Millie did more drawing.

When we all got hungry we headed out. We did a little bit of grocery shopping at a corner store so we’d have breakfast, and then walked 30 minutes to a well rated restaurant.
Millie found a bear with a matching bow and insisted on taking a photo with it.

It was cold out, especially after the sun went down, so the warm soup was especially good. We tried some of the sausage we’ve seen everywhere. Didn’t love it.

We walked back and put Millie to bed early. Nick set up the TV in our room so we can have a very rare movie night.
