Day 190: Hangout day in Busan

We had what Millie calls a “hang out day”. Hang out days don’t have agendas or destinations, we just see where the day takes us. They are her favorite, I like them occasionally, and Nick goes a little stir crazy.

We spent the morning at home. We washed every item of clothing because this Airbnb has a dryer, which we haven’t had since Europe. What a luxury!

Millie did lots of playing. She made a car for her Judies (the baby and the zootopia character) and carpooled them around, pretending to be a mom.

She drew a new book, “Peaches Halloween Surprise”.

And we made a countdown calendar for when we’re going to meet up with my parents.

Nick took her to the neighborhood park and grocery store to get more paper. I did some computer work. I got our budget up to date and booked some lodging we need.

Then in the afternoon Millie requested the beach, so we walked the 20 minutes down the hill to the same beach we went to yesterday. She ran around in the sand while Nick and I chatted on a bench.

It was delightful. There was a talent show (?) happening behind us with lots of different k-pop acts, so we had live music to entertain us. Millie danced around at the shoreline. The girl loves the beach.

When it was time to go, Nick got her moving by playing the new favorite “you can’t get me” game.

We had heard that eel here is delicious so we found a nearby restaurant with great ratings. It felt funny having a very Japanese meal on our last night in Korea, before heading to Japan, but it was delicious and made me excited for the cuisine ahead of us. Millie ate her entire plate of dumplings.

We walked home and Millie had another early night. Nick and I have been having movie nights which are so rare but fun. First we watched Weapons (full of plot holes but good spooky fun) and last night we watched Parasite. I’d seen it before but wanted to see it again now that we’re in Korea. I think it might be in my top 5 movies of all time.
