We rode the subway over to Ueno park this morning. It was gray and drizzling and everyone was wiped from so much walking yesterday, so we decided the best plan was to visit some museums.
Our first stop was the Nature & Science museum. We spent a while here looking at fossils, taxidermied animals, etc. My dad started to feel sick and headed back to the hotel with my mom. I think we might all be coming down with something.

We left the museum and walked through a busy food market. We saw lots of people eating these gelatinous cubes on a stick so we tried one. It was warm and vaguely tasted of soy sauce but was 90% flavorless. Not our favorite thing.

We continued walking through the drizzle and to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. They had a Van Gogh exhibit on and their permanent collection was all closed. It was very, very packed. The crowds slowly shuffled past the art. I didn’t feel like being a part of them so I looked on from behind lots of heads.

Millie passed the time with a drawing pad they had for kids. She was happy as a clam.

We left this museum and played at the playground outside. Millie befriended a little girl and they played tag. Nick and I talked about how proud we were that she has started making friends with other kids despite language barriers.

We took the train home and watched a movie for Sunday movie night. After the movie Nick taught her to play Crazy 8s and she went on to beat him 4 times in a row.

Early to bed tonight to fend off any worsening sickness before a big exhausting day we have planned tomorrow.
