Day 215: Train to Hiroshima

I woke up today feeling worse. Took my temperature and yep, a fever. Being sick is rough anywhere but it’s especially rough away from home, and on a transit day.

We packed up and waited until it was time to leave for the station. Millie took a bunch of adorable selfies with my parents. I know she’ll miss them until we are reunited in Austin in April or May. It was such a treat to have them here and I know how lucky I am that we can travel together for ~3 weeks with no drama.

At 9:30 I masked up and we took two Ubers to Shin-Osaka station. We got our tickets and said our farewells, they are headed to Kyoto and we were off to Hiroshima. I slept through the train journey. Our hotel is located directly on top of the station, which made things easier. We had to wait for an hour until our room was ready and all I wanted to do was get into bed. It felt just like the last time I had a fever and our room wasn’t ready in Tunisia.

Finally we got in. I promptly fell asleep. Millie and Nick watched Princess Mononoke and then went out to dinner together. I’m chugging water and Tylenol and hoping I’m back to normal tomorrow.
