Day 252: Beach bums in Koh Chang, vol 3

The theme continues, and will do for a while longer. We got a later start today and made it down to the beach at about 10:30. Millie caught more crabs. I envied her amazingly thick and wavy beach hair.

We swam in the ocean and discovered a second swimming pool at this resort. We played in that for a while.

At about 1, Nick convinced her to go out on a kayak with him to find a further away island that he heard was good for snorkeling. It took some convincing and a bribe of a mango smoothie, but she agreed to go. I put on a fresh layer of SPF on her and helped them set off.

I went between very relaxed to be alone on the beach and kind of stressed by how far they were going. I tracked Nick’s phone location to make sure they made it there.

I sat on the beach in the shade for 3 hours all together. I finished my book and watched the tiny crabs. I made friends with a pug (?) that breathed way too loud.

Meanwhile, Nick and Millie made it to the island and got out to snorkel. They said it was the best snorkeling they’ve ever done and Nick said Millie was very well behaved the whole time. No complaining even though it took 45 minutes to get there and back.

By the time they got back, sunset was looming. We hung out by the pool and then went back to our room for our pre-dinner showers.

We walked along the beach to see if we could find a new restaurant. We stopped for a beer at a new place but it took 15 minutes for them to deliver our beers, so we decided against ordering any food. It was a perfect place to watch the sun go down though.

We had dinner at the same place as last night, then walked back and got to bed earlier than the last few nights. The sun really wipes us out!
