I slept terribly with the worst headache of my life. I don’t typically get bad headaches but last night the pressure in the head was bad enough that it woke me up every time I moved. When Nick and Millie were awake at 8 I was a zombie and requested to stay in bed. I took some Advil which helped but I still felt rotten.
Millie jumped into Nurse Mom mode and brought me coffee. Nick entertained her and then a couple of hours later she set up a little bed station for me and brought me soup. (With lots of help behind the scenes from Nick of course).

They left for the afternoon while I spent the day in bed. By the late afternoon I felt mostly better. Still blowing my nose every 10 minutes and sneezing, but the headache subsided.
The Hiller’s first stop of the day was the WA Museum Boola Bardip. The report from both of them was “it was okay”. Millie told me all about the meteorites. Nick took this photo.

After this they went to Cottesloe Beach, which is very central and the most recommended beach by far. Nick compared it to Venice Beach and said the waves were calm and the beach had perfect white sand. Millie said she stripped down and played.

Perth has stolen our hearts and been added onto the very short list of places we could see ourselves living for a few years.
They got back starving so we immediately walked out to dinner. We have driven past this place every day we’ve stayed here and it always looks lively and like it has the best vibes. We walked about 15 minutes and got a table overlooking the swan river. It felt like an English pub by a body of water.

A three piece live band was setting up. It had a drummer, a keyboardist, and a female singer on guitar. Nick and I placed bets on what song they’d start with and I guessed Fleetwood Mac “Dreams”. I am beyond proud to share that I nailed it and that was their first song.
Then they got into recent hits and played Olivia Dean and Gracie Abrams. Millie insisted we danced and I put aside my extreme dancing anxiety for one song. She loved it.
We walked back as the sun was setting. I feel recharged from a day of silence and doing nothing.
