We had such a boring day today, it barely warrants a post.
We woke up late-ish (8:30) due to the time change. Millie spent two whole hours on my phone FaceTiming friends at home. Then she drew for probably another two hours. We had plenty of food in the house and just kept making coffee and snacks until we paid attention to the time and it was Noon already. Nick and I discussed possible destinations for the day but then just kept… hanging out.

Today’s book was about two friends who call each other up and then take a baby to the mall.

Finally at around 3 I started getting cabin fever. We had the back door open and it was a beautiful day so I wanted to take advantage of it. Instead of doing anything interesting, we just went to the local huge playground.

Millie befriended another American who is here on vacation and they played for a while. She found the splash pad part of the park and stripped down and splashed for a while.
We left the park at 5:30 and decided to stop by the store to make dinner at home. I made a simple green curry for me and Nick and “deconstructed green curry” for Millie (white rice, broccoli, eggs for protein). To my surprise she ate everything and asked for seconds.
We had a very beautiful kiwi for dessert, which was probably the only culturally significant thing we did all day.

During dinner we often do “highs and lows” where we share the best and worst parts of our day. Nick and I didn’t really have any for today. It wasn’t a bad day, but we didn’t do anything that was really a “high”. But Millie said “this whole day was my high”. It was a good reminder that the built in rest, play, and connect days are just as important as the fun and interesting ones.
