I woke up this morning still feverish and feeling bad. Nick and Millie went to the breakfast buffet while I rested. Then he dropped her off at the Kids’ Club for a couple of hours. She was excited to go but left dejected—she said it was boring and there weren’t any other kids there. We might try again in a day or so. I can tell she is lonely and misses friends. The language barrier is tough too. Most of the kids here are not English speakers. We feel pretty guilty about it, and sad for her.
At around noon I started to turn a corner and felt okay enough to go and hang out by the pool. Millie and I chatted away, telling each other “stories” which are just memories she has.

Despite it looking like paradise, it is somewhat cold here. The water in all the pools is very cold. So there has been less swimming than I expected.
I managed to eat some pizza which was the first thing I’d had in 48 hours.
We walked down to the beach and built a sandcastle. And we spotted another jellyfish.

We had an overpriced and not great buffet dinner, which was the only choice in this resort. I hate to be a complainer but this resort has kind of stunk. The service is strange and most of the restaurants are closed down for unknown reasons. And, at the end of the day, we’re just not really “sit around and do nothing at a resort” type of people. We’ve rented a car for tomorrow so we can bust out of here and go on an adventure.
I will leave you with this. While I was on the beach with Millie a parasailer passed above us. As I looked up I realized that the poor woman’s bikini had somehow gotten pulled down and she was mooning everyone on the beach. Just a butt passing slowly above us. It made my day.
