Boring and long travel day today.
We arranged with our hotel to have a driver pick us up at 9am to drive us the 2 hours to the Cusco airport. It ended up being nearly 3, along bumpy roads and traffic, but luckily we had plenty of time and no one got car sick.
We waited in the airport and then boarded the flight to Lima. We weren’t planning on visiting Lima but all flights from Cusco to Mexico City routed through it, and we decided to stay for two nights instead of having a hellish overnight travel day.

We landed and then tried and failed to find the airport shuttle into the area of town we’re staying in. I felt frustrated and we ended up just calling an Uber. It took us another 45 minutes to get to our Airbnb.
We are staying in a part of the city called Miraflores, and the drive in felt exactly like driving on PCH in LA. Cliffs on one side, surfers on the other.

We eventually arrived and rested for a while, but we were all starving. We walked to a nearby restaurant and had yet another great dinner. Peruvian food is shockingly good, and Millie will eat most of it because it has simple and non-spicy flavors. We had ceviche (she didn’t touch) and Lomo Saltado, which she loved.
We walked back and put a much needed load of laundry on. Boring day!
